We Slay Monsters streamlines traditional roguelike RPG gameplay and introduces a unique poker-esque card based combat mechanic. Each class (Wizard, Rogue, or Warrior) has a unique deck of cards; using this deck you will guide your hero through the dungeon.
We Slay Monster will be released on June 22, 2017.
I created the first version of the game (originally called "Fury") as an entry in the 7-Day Roguelike Challenge in 2010 but the game was far too ambitious to complete in seven days. The original idea paired a Magic-esque collectible card combat mechanic with a roguelike (an idea which has since been done successfully in a couple of different games). About a year later, after successfully putting together a team entry for Ludum Dare 19, we decided to seriously try to work on a game, and decided to work on We Slay Monsters. Six years and tons of hard work later, we're in the final stretch of finishing the game, and it has evolved to be very different from the 7DRL game I put together seven years ago.
Furiously Inactive Games, LLC allows for the contents of We Slay Monsters to be published through video broadcasting services for any commercial or non-commercial purposes. Monetization of videos created containing assets from We Slay Monsters is legally & explicitly allowed by Furiously Inactive Games, LLC.
